'Eye, Eye!'
EYES - Windows to the soul and the body? Our eyes can reveal a great deal about our health...
There are two main areas of study related to the eyes: Iridology and
Rayid. Iridology involves the examination of the iris of the eye - not for diagnosis,
but to see if the patient is prone to developing certain diseases, or to check on the current state of health of the
patient, whereas
Rayid is the study of a person's
hereditary behavioural tendencies achieved by analysing the structure of the human iris.
Interestingly, The Colour of your Iris, along with the shape of any
Black, Brown, Red or
White marks can tell the practitioner
a great deal about you,
your health and your well-being.
You Blue-eyed people may well have some weaknesses associated with your respiratory
system, and can be affected by asthma. Your digestive system can also be a problem, and you may develop acid conditions
like ulcers and even arthritis. Some
Blue-eyed people have a weakness associated with their Lymph system (glands, tonsils,
appendix).
Thus it is recommended that 'Blue-eyes' go easy on dairy products which can
aggravate and increase mucus production, and instead, eat a diet rich in bananas and peaches for example, with supplements
like
Yellow marigolds and
Green echinacea.
Those of you with Brown-eyes may have some problems with the metabolism of fats
within your bodies, and you may have a weakness with your circulation system even with your actual blood in the form of
anaemia.
Here iron-rich spinach and watercress are highly recommended, as well as supplements - nettle, ginger, dandelion and comfrey.
If your irises are of mixed colours (biliary), you may be prone to digestive disorders.
A White ring around the outer
edge of the iris indicates cholesterol in the body - a reduction of animal fats in the diet is advisable here.
Yellow patches may mean toxins in
the kidneys,
Brown patches could indicate pancreatic irregularities,
Red patches could mean iron absorption problems.
All spots of colour and fibres visible in the iris are significant to the Iridologist. As a child, a Hungarian doctor,
Ignatz von Peczeley, was playing with his pet owl when he accidentally broke its leg - and he immediately noticed a
Black spot appear in its eye. He noticed the same phenomena again years later, when he was working with a
patient with a broken leg.
Iridologists are often also trained nutritionists or herbalists. Tendencies for ill health are detected in the patient,
and, with the aid of vitamins, herbs and good nutritional advice, the body has an excellent chance of rebalancing and
healing itself.
If you have had time to explore our site, you will have learnt that there are four colour seasons that people can be
classified in. Interestingly, there are also four types of iris patterns that every eye can be classified into,
despite the fact that eye patterns are totally unique, perhaps even more so than finger prints, which is why eye patterns
are increasingly being used for identification at cashpoint machines.
Below is a very brief overview of the Rayid method, showing in its most basic form, the four types of iris
foundational structures and general pattern identification.
The
FLOWER
So called because of the petal like structures that seem to emanate form the centre of the iris outward; these are the
emotional processors. 'Flowers' are often gifted in the visual arts and creativity, they make excellent artists and
engineers. They often choose careers that help them find a pathway towards the practical and secure.
Just like the apparent
open spaces in the petals of the flower they often feel a sense of loss;
a void; a piece missing. They need to gain a level of inner sensitivity into who they are. 'Flowers' come from a place
that feels open and ungrounded and often work hard all their lives to try and reduce this feeling of separation and
abandonment.
Typically they are the ones who joke most about having a heart of stone, or claim they have no
feelings on a sensitive subject - however this apparent wall of firmness often acts only as a shield to protect their
inner flower-like sensitivity. If a flower person can learn to use their inner creativity and express what they are
feeling, they begin to open up and grow toward the light of consciousness, just like a flower!
The JEWEL
Just as the great crushing and condensing force of the earth can create gemstones so this iris type has a capacity to be
as mentally focused and sharp as a diamond. Often there are small, focused points of colour in the eye, usually a light
golden/orange spot or coloured patch - these are
the analytical processors. 'Jewels' are natural orators and teachers; they have a very strong and focused mind, able to
accumulate a mass of information and facts
which they feel obliged to share with others - hungering for as much input as
possible.
'Jewels' often feel they need to express themselves with as much clarity as possible; making a mistake in their information
processing would, for them, be a terrible crime - they hate criticism above all else. When faced with a difficult decision
or situation a 'jewel' would rather take avoiding action than take an uncalculated risk; these are often the people who
never seem to get back to you when you have 'a situation' that needs dealing with. This is not to say they are unreliable,
on the whole you will never get a more definite answer from anyone other than a 'jewel', they just like to get their facts
straight.
Unlike the 'flower' the 'jewel' already knows about constriction and groundedness; they spend most of
their lives looking for
freedom or trying to escape from their own minds, sometimes following mystical concepts. When a 'jewel' learns to 'let go'
of ideas and concepts they truly begin to feel their power of understanding and awareness.
The SHAKER
This iris structure combines the open attributes of the 'flower' and the focus of the 'jewel'. In a 'shaker' these two
forces are meshed together but in a way that really does not connect, they are the 'rush of energy' types.
'Shakers' often feel themselves to be the odd one in the bunch; they developed chameleon like tendencies, moving easily
amongst all types. They are often goal driven and pursue their objectives with an almost ruthless attitude, putting the
project ahead of all else. Between the 'jewel' and 'flower', 'shakers' most resemble the 'flower', they have a strongly
visual approach and are often found at the heart of groups - organising and motivating the rest.
'Shakers' excel in marketing and networking, they can be truly dynamic accomplishing much. The old saying, 'a candle that
burns twice as bright lasts half as long' is true of most 'shakers', they must try to conserve their energy as constant
restlessness will literally shake them apart! Conservation should be the watch word for a 'shaker' - learn to chip away
at a problem gradually, rather than reaching for the dynamite!
The STREAM
The final structure is the most physically grounded and stabile. The 'stream' iris is often a mesh of finely compacted
fibres; they feel very connected to the physical body and often express their thoughts in a very physical way. This
structure has a basic 'jewel' like function but with a slightly softer mode of communication; they are often involved in
careers that are connected to the general public, or that require them to
fulfill some connective role.
The closeness of the fibres in a 'stream' reflects their outlook on the community, - they feel connected. 'Streams' love
to work together in some kind of group effort, they are the binding force at work in our society, supporting many of our
institutions. 'Streams' make excellent doctors, nurses and carers, or any work connected with the public service
industry. The 'stream' is quite the opposite to a 'shaker', their 'flower'/'jewel' energy meshes very well,
however they have a tendency to become 'stuck in a rut' as the strong and fixed energy of the 'stream' can tend toward
inertia - if they can learn to implement a little more 'shaker' into their lives they can push themselves toward even
greater challenges and rewards.
So, all you need now is a mirror! Look very carefully at your iris colour and structure and decide which type of pattern
you have. You will no doubt be surprised at how accurately your personality traits match the descriptions above! You will
be even more amazed at what a
