The Colour Yellow

Welcome to a COLOURFUL New Year with SCARLET PIXEL.
All living beings on our amazing planet respond to the rhythms colour and light - but for those of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere, December and January are the darkest and gloomiest months of the year. Help is at hand - Scarlet Pixel will add colour to your year.

Made any New Year resolutions for 2006?

. Can Colour help you keep some of your good intentions?

.YES!!
.Read on!

The Scarlet Pixel team have put together colourful months for you in 2006 - and we are starting with YELLOW to brighten your January.

YELLOW - the brightest colour in the spectrum, bringing light and vibrancy to the dark months of Northern Hemisphere winter, complementing us in the bright days of Southern Hemisphere summer.

Is yellow one of your favourite colours?
It is a good colour choice for the New Year, showing a desire to move forward and change, to achieve your aims, to keep your resolutions, to make that dream come true in 2006.
Add some yellow to your life - read on...

What is the essence of yellow?
Yellow is the colour of the mind. It ensures precise, clear thoughts and focus, rapid reflexes, and actions that are targeted and without hesitation. It is a colour of communication that connects and unifies, that gives confidence and personal self-esteem, a good colour for journalists, scientists, entertainers. It is the colour of getting things done, of sophistication, of style. In your body, yellow is associated with the area of the solar plexis - the centre of personal power, of the energy to act. It is the intersection of physical and mental, of thinking and doing. Use a focus of yellow around you to help you keep to your plans and your New Year Resolutions.

Yellow Food What about you?
Yellow will boost low self-esteem and help you to fight any fears and phobias. It is the colour that is connected to your digestive system and solar plexus and nervous system. Yellow can help get rid of toxins from your body and stimulate the flow of gastric juices. Yellow foods - bananas, squashes, peppers, corns, melons, lemons - are sunshine foods that can help lift low spirits. Yellow is good at clearing away negative thinking, dithering, confusion.

What about yellow in your home?
Yellow enhances a sunny room, and is such a light and bright colour that it is suitable for any size or shape of room. Nature paints with yellow - and yellow brings the warm glow of the sun into our homes. Take your inspiration from the shade of yellow that you prefer - a bowl of acid lemons, towering sunflowers, sandy beaches in the summer, rich ochres, delicate primroses and buttercups, saffron and spices, the list is endless - its your choice! Yellow is a useful accent colour, adding splashes of sun to a north facing or cool coloured room of greens and blues. It is best never to use yellow without the addition of a complementary colour - violet or blue. Pure yellow can be an isolating and stressful stimulant, not at all what you need in your colourful and optimistic New Year of 2006. Yellow is, however, a very good choice for areas of your home or workplace to encourage study or movement such as halls or studies.

AND FINALLY...

The most frequently made resolution of the Scarlet Pixel team (and the resolution most frequently not achieved by team members!!) has been to lose some weight. To help get rid of those excess pounds, as you go to the gym and count your calories, enlist the help of yellow...
Eat some yellow foods to stimulate your digestive system (and add some orange foods to assist the absorption of necessary nutrients), wear some yellow, add yellow to your life and dance with joy and energy into February... the month that goes RED at Scarlet Pixel.
