Hello OZ!Did you know that after the UK, Australia is the next largest market for Scarlet Pixel - you folks 'down under' are certainly very aware of the impact and inportance of colour. Chris, the Scarlet Pixel Senior Colour Consultant, lived in Australia for two years - in Cammeray, a suburb of Sydney. Whilst there, Chris studied and travelled, and thinks of Australia as a most amazing country in terms of contrasts and colours: "I really enjoyed my stay in Australia - friendly open people, barbecues, beautiful beaches - and AMAZING colours! I regularly visited the misty Blue Mountains, breath-taking panoramas, 'rust-stained' sheer rock walls, and gum trees below and in the distance like fluffy green pile. I especially loved this place early in the morning and in the evening. The Great Barrier Reef is fantastic. I am told it has been called 'The Eighth Wonder of the World' - all crystal water and glorious sunshine, Autumn-tinted coral and those busy shoals of dazzling-hued fish darting around, gorgeous, phosphorescent, blue, green, red. Starfish like stunning blue mosaics... In fact, the countryside and coasts all around Australia are wonderful, from the lush and rich colours in the tropical north to the deep blue and turquoise seas in the south. My experience of Ayres Rock at sunset is unforgettable - molten red in a golden glare - colours that took my breathe away! The orange and red stripes of the Dancing Girl Range and the colours of the Painted Desert in the Northern Territory as the sun sinks, just before the glorious scene turns to ashen grey - wonderful. I was given an Australian Opal - creamy and innocent-looking, but with red and green and gold and turquoise fire in its depths! Creaky Black Swans, startling Birds of Paradise, golden yellow Wattle, creamy Kookaburras, red and grey Kangaroos, misty coloured Gums, tiny brown lizards with bright yellow back stripes in my back yard... Australia is a living spectrum. Colour around us and in nature is free to all of us. You Australians are rich in colour. Colour - used to influence, heal and positively affect our minds, bodies and spirits - is vibrational healing - a very special form of healing used to great effect by Aborigines. Let's hear more from you Australia!"
