The Secrets of Attraction.
The
Colourful Way ???

Parrot Birds do it, Bees do it,
Even insects in the trees do it,
Let's do it - let's fall in love...!

But just how DO birds and bees do it... attract a mate that is? The answer is often by means of colour as part of a courtship and mating display. Forest and Colourful woman woodland birds that want to make an impression, to stand out against the darker foliage and attract the opposite sex will often have very bright feathers. Picture birds of paradise or parrots, or the stunning display of the peacock. In contrast, of course, dull coloured feathers are 'worn' by the females who need camouflage when sitting on a nest of eggs. Nor are birds the only living creatures that use colour for display and to attract a mate... many mammals do the same... like the monkeys with red bottoms!!! Did you know that the inside of the horse chestnut flower turns from yellow to red once it has been pollinated? This is supposedly a way of focusing the bees' attention on the unvisited flowers.

The human animal is no different and applies colour artificially in order to appear more attractive and to attract the opposite sex. How and where is this colour applied?

LIPS - much body language in us humans is sent and received via our lips. In the same way that the importance of the influence of colour is reflected in language - 'feeling blue' etc, so we talk in the language of lips - people may have a 'false smile', be 'tight-lipped', some English are said to have 'stiff upper lips' and so on.

Red lips We are all instinctively attracted to a genuine smile. You have the ability RIGHT NOW to make yourself more attractive - just by smiling - and it has been proved that smiling does actually make you feel better - and, of course more attractive at the same time. Pigments have been added to the lips of females to enhance beauty and attractiveness for at least 5000 years. Not just women either - men have also decorated their lips in the past. The usual colour used is RED. WHY? Because this colour sends a strong 'non-verbal' sexy symbol that is usually unconsciously picked up by others. Quite simply, when sexually aroused, both men and women have more blood flowing to the lips which become REDDER and slightly swollen.

Adding RED lipstick mimics this and sends out VERY powerful sexual signals to an interested onlooker! Further - in our society today it is generally only women that add colour to their lips. They also often have glossy lip coverings. Some psychologists suggest that female lips mirror female genitals. To an interested male, RED lipstick and gloss are a definite 'come on'.

Eye EYES - 'mirrors of the soul' and much more besides - 'bedroom eyes', the 'evil eye', 'shifty eyes', 'angel eyes' - again our spoken language indicates the importance of the body language of our eyes. Our eyes are, on average, 18 times more sensitive than our ears. They receive non-verbal sexual symbols, AND certainly send them! Pictures of men and women with dilated pupils are ALWAYS more appealing to the onlooker than the same face with pin-prick pupils. Why? Because our pupils dilate when we are sexually aroused. So... use candle-light for seduction... not only are wrinkles and imperfections hidden, but your dilated pupils in this gentle light are very attractive to your partner!! For this very reason, the English Tudors of the fifteenth century, Henry 8th and company, put drops of deadly belladonna into their eyes to dilate their pupils! Ancient Egyptians and Greeks used coloured cosmetics in order to bring attention to the eyes. Today we are lucky. The colours of eyeliners, eye shadows and mascaras available are almost limitless - but all are used for the same purpose - to attract attention to our eyes and to make our eyes more noticable, attractive and appealing.

We colour our hair, we use jewellery and we use colour in our clothes to attract. The 'sexiest' colour of all is red - a 'come and get me colour', a colour full of energy and vitality, a colour that stands out from the rest. Forget that little black dress - if you really want to stand out and 'sizzle', think of those birds of paradise! They don't wear black! Red is not just for the female of the species - guys may be forced to wear a grey or black suit - but soon learn the language or ties! Wearing a red tie for the night out on the town, or with a new date is a must if you want to impress.

The power of colour...Wow....!
