Food, Glorious Food !GMO's, cattle and BSE, organically grown food. Food stories have hit the headlines very frequently during the last few years. It seems that 60% of USA processed food contains some GMO ingredients - yet there is a tremendous resistance even to GMO trials - let alone food from European countries. The French government is at present refusing to allow British beef to be sold in France, due to continuing fears over BSE - much to the fury of British beef producers who maintain their meat is excellent. The market for organic produce is steadily rising. In Britain, demand is such that 70% of this food has to be imported. Where does colour fit into all this furore? We are all sensitive to the colour of our food. Experiments have shown that we reject food on the basis of colour alone. Mashed potato coloured blue or green is refused, yet the same mash coloured red or orange is declared delicious! Obviously this makes a basic biological sense - blue or green food may be mouldy and dangerous to eat, green apples may be sour, red apples are often ripe, sweet and delicious.
To eat a balanced diet means eating a multi-coloured diet. Each fruit, vegetable, starch or protein source has its own particular blend of minerals, vitamins and so on. Each food also contains the energy of it's natural colouring, and its overall effect is the effect of that colour. Thus yellow, orange and red foods are stimulating and energy giving - reds fruits such as strawberries and cherries, red meats, red, orange and yellow vegetables and lentils for example. Green foods balance and detoxify the body: green is in the middle of the colour spectrum. Think of the green medicinal herbs that have been used for centuries. Foods with cooler hues - fishes, berries, purple-hued vegetables are calming foods. Sceptical - ???? Just consider this - all vegetables, all fruits, all animals absorb light in order to grow and flourish. The light/energy of these living things has been photographed using Kirlian photography. Raw freshly harvested vegetables are seen to emit a powerful aura of energy. Overcook these vegetables and see how little light energy is now emitted. As for the energy emitted from highly processed foods..!!!!! The food we eat absorbs full spectrum light to grow. Food with certain natural colours exhibits the energies of that colour - colour vibration which has been absorbed from the sun/colour energy which can then be absorbed beneficially into your body (if it has not been destroyed first by processing!!) Think FRESH, think NATURAL, THINK COLOUR! Happy Eating!!
